FAQ

Bathtub Reglazing in Lakewood, New Jersey

Q: How long does the bathtub refinishing process take?

Our refinishing process typically only takes 2 to 3 hours to complete. Your bathtub will be ready to use the next day. Why wait days or even weeks for a contractor to replace your bathtub when you can get the same results in only 24 hours?

Q: Reglazing vs. Replacement?

Reglazing is the alternative if you DO NOT want to replace your bathtub or remodel your entire bathroom. It can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars over replacement. A brand new bathtub may only cost as little as $200, $300 or $400, but there are hidden costs such as removal and disposal, plumbing alterations, and tile work. These costs add up and you can easily end up spending nearly $3,000 or more to replace your bathtub.

Q: Do you repair cracks, chips, and scratches in my bathtub?

We will fill in any chips or other imperfections in your bathtub or another surface before the refinishing process. We make your damaged porcelain, acrylic, or fiberglass surface look as good as new.

Q: How much will it cost to have my bathtub refinished?

The process of refinishing can vary in price but is much more cost-effective than a complete replacement of your tub. When you schedule an appointment to have reglazing services performed, we will come out to your home and look over the tub. We will provide you with a FREE service quote based on the job to be done. You will know how much the job will cost beforehand.

Q: Is my tub or tile too old and damaged to be renewed?

Probably not. It is a common misconception that rust, cracks, chips, and flaking make a tub or tile irreversibly damaged. However, with our expert resurfacing technicians being backed by the highest quality products and using professional precision tools, most tubs, no matter how damaged you may think it is, can be restored to its original beautiful elegance. The most common types of abuse to tile can be repaired, and with resurfacing tile is given a brand new and durable coat of synthetic porcelain, sealed water-tight.

Q: Do I need to leave the house while my tub/tile is being resurfaced?

No, we prefer that you stay in the home while the work is being done.

Q: Do I need to clean my tub and/or tile before it’s reglazed?

We appreciate any preliminary cleaning; we will still have to re-clean with our special cleaners to properly prepare for the application of our coating.

Q: What should I do to prepare for my reglazing project?

There is not much that we ask our customers to do. Our job is very convenient and is virtually effortless for our customers. You can, however, remove loose objects from the bathroom (or work area), such as toothbrushes, bottles, paintings, shower curtains, soap, and towels, so that they will not be exposed during the job.

Q: Can you reglaze a bathtub that has been previously reglazed?

Yes, a bathtub previously refinished can be reglazed again. We strip and clean the old coating so the surface is properly prepared for the new coat.

Q: Can I use the bathtub before you arrive?

Yes. The tub does not need to be dry when we arrive. You can use it right up to the minute before we get there.
